Virgina Wine Time: "Our next stop on the Shenandoah Trail was Cave Ridge Vineyard. At the end of our tasting here, we concluded that this new winery has lots of potential. We noted that the wines here were well crafted, and we even got to chat with owner and winemaker Randy Phillips"------"the tasting room itself was very comfortable and allowed guests to enjoy a wonderful mountain landscape."

Official Virginia Wine Lover: "Cave Ridge Vineyard is one of many vineyards and wineries that have been developed in recent years based on extensive research of growing conditions and potential markets. Phillips says that the rapid growth in the number of wineries being developed in Virginia is creating competition, which will ultimately result in significant improvement of wines available to consumers."

Wine Compass: "The first tent we visited was for Cave Ridge Vineyard, a new winery located near Woodstock in the Shenandoah Valley. At today’s event they were pouring a Riesling, Viognier, Traminette, and luckily, one red wine: Chambourcin. This is a dry medium bodied wine with nice cherry flavors; light tannins provide a smooth finish. A good start to the day."

Northern Virgina Daily: "'While the farmer holds the title to the land, actually it belongs to all the people because civilization itself rests upon the soil,' Jefferson said. Randy Phillips, owner of Cave Ridge Vineyards in Mt. Jackson, and Thomas Kelly, vineyard manager of Rappahannock Cellars in Huntley, have similar agricultural philosophies. They are both working hard to ensure that their vineyards are sustainable in a national climate where the demand for organic and health-conscious foods is on the rise."
